Aiming to be "a centre of light and learning" which meets the public's need for general education, information and recreation, whilst programming cultural events, particularly in literature and visual art.

Western Writers' Centre
The Centre holds literary events, workplace programmes, poetry workshop and other literary events throughout the year, They also hold a free daytime Diverse Writers Group every Thursday afternoon (starting at 2pm) and run a general Writers’ Group each Wednesday.
