Priority Actions 2006-2008
There were 34 City and County Development Boards established in early 2000 and their strategies for economic, social and cultural development for their areas were published in early 2002.
It was agreed that a review of the implementation of the strategy would take place after 3 years. In essence, this 3 year review provided the focus for the work of Galway City Development Board in 2005.
The purpose of the review was to enable the participants that is, board members, those involved in the Strategy implementation and the staff in the Community and Enterprise Department, to take a step back and assess progress to date, take account of what has changed and identify key priorities and actions for implementing the strategy over the next three year period.
