Water quality
Water quality monitoring is carried out on all Galway city beaches on a weekly basis during the bathing water season, in order to assess the microbiological parameters and, also, the physical-chemical parameters of the bathing water and to ensure adherence to the standards.
The results are displayed on the notice boards at each beach on a weekly basis.
Mutton Island Waste Waste Treatment Plant has greatly improved the quality of bathing waters in Galway Bay.
