Rent Arrears

If you are experiencing difficulties in paying your rent or your account has fallen into arrears then you should contact the Arrears Controller in the Finance Department, either Ann Kerrigan or John Waters, as soon as possible.

A mutually acceptable arrangement can be made with the Arrears Controller to help you pay your rent arrears.

If efforts by the Housing Department and the Arrears Controller fail, the City Council has recourse to legal action.

A Notice to Quit can be issued which demands possession of the property. This can then be followed by the granting of a Decree for possession of the property in the District Court.
