Access to Employment for People with Disabilities
Galway City Council is committed to achieving the employment targets with regard to the employment of people with a disability in the City Council. In this regard the Council works closely with Galway Supported Employment and facilitates work opportunities through this scheme.
In addition the Council is currently working on an initiative, through a Social Inclusion Working Group of the City Development Board to identify the issues regarding access to employment for people with a disability generally in Galway City and Galway County. An awareness seminar for employers in the City and County was held in 2006.
