Galway City Council facilitates its staff to develop a career in local government through the many education and training opportunities provided throughout the organisation. The City Council support staff through courses of study relevant to their work with a view to assisting staff to achieving promotion in the organisation:
Such courses include:
- Certificate in Local Government Studies
- Diploma in Local Government Studies
- Diploma in Housing Studies
- Degree in Public Management
- ECDL
- Line Management Development
In addition the Council facilitates staff to gain a wide range of experience in various departments through the implementation of the Staff Mobility Policy.
