Carrying out works on a Protected Structure

Planning permission is not normally required for minor works to Protected structures, provided the works being carried out would not materially affect the character of the structure or any element of the structure that contributes to its special interest.

You should consult with the Heritage Officer of Galway City Council for further information and advice concerning proposed development of a protected structure, or the making of a planning application in respect of a protected structure.
