Parking Fines
Parking Fines in Galway City can be issued by Traffic Wardens, Community Wardens and the Gardai.
It is the responsibility of the driver of any vehicle parked to ensure that a valid parking ticket/permit/disc is displayed and easily visible on the vehicle.
Fines and Fixed Charges
| Parking in a Disabled persons Parking Bay without Displaying a Valid Permit | € 80 |

| All Other Existing Offences Currently Enforced by Traffic Wardens / Community Wardens | € 40 |
Existing Offences Include:
- Parking on Double Yellow Lines
- Parking on Single Yellow Line
- Parking on a Footpath or any part thereof
- Parking in a parking space without a Valid Pay & Display Ticket
When a Fixed Charge Notice or Ticket is served or affixed by a Traffic Warden or Community Warden, the person, may during the period of 28 days beginning on the date of the notice, make a payment of the amount of the fixed charge to the Traffic Section in City Hall.
If payment is not made within 28 days the amount of the fixed charge will increase by 50% and the person may, during the next 28 day period, pay the increased amount that is €120.00 / €90.00 / €60.00.
If payment is not received within the 56 day period, court proceedings will be initiated and payment of the fixed charge cannot be accepted thereafter. Summary conviction in a court for Failure to Pay a Fixed Charge Notice can incur a charge up to €1,000 and costs.
The Traffic Warden or Community Warden may serve a Fixed Charge Notice:
- On the Person: A Fixed Charge Notice or Ticket may be served by post
- On the Registered Owner of the Vehicle: By affixing the notice to the vehicle
