Galway City Road Network
The Galway City’s Road Network comprises of National Primary and Secondary Routes and also Regional Roads and Local Urban Roads.
The National Primary and Secondary Routes which form apart of the National Road Network are:
- Dublin Road (N6)
- Tuam Road (N17)
- Moycullen/Clifden Road (N59)
- Headford Road (N84)
All aspects of works on these roads are funded through the National Roads Authority.
The Regional Roads and Local Roads provide for the traffic distribution function throughout the City and its environs.
The construction, maintenance and upkeep of the Regional and Local Roads are jointly funded by Galway City Council and the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.

- Dyke Road
- Clybaun Road.
- Ballymoneen Road.
- Headford Road
- Cappagh Road.
- Letteragh Road.
- Rahoon Road from cemetery westwards to borough boundary.
- Doughiska Road.
- New access to Merlin Park Hospital from the Dublin Road at Galway Crystal
- Road widening and improvements at Bothar na gCoiste.
