Glass recycling:
· Please segregate the glass according to colour – this is important for the recycling process.
· Glass jars and bottles only. No ceramics, tiles, mirrors, window glass, pyrex or drinking glasses should be placed in the bottle banks. This glass is processed in a different manner and can affect the quality of the recycling glass.
· For more information on glass recycling, click here.

Abuse of bring banks:
· Bring banks are intended for household glass only. Commercial outlets must deal with and pay for their own waste management/ recycling services. Bottle banks used illegally by commercial outlets for their large volumes of glass leave little capacity for the domestic user.
· Littering is an offence under the Litter Pollution Act and liable to an on-the-spot fine of €150. Please take the container used to bring items to the bring bank home with you for re-use.
· Leaving your recyclable items beside the bring banks, rather than placing them in the containers provided is illegal and costs time and money to be cleared up. Even when banks are full, it is illegal to leave your items beside the bank – go to another site or return when the banks have been emptied. If a bank is full, please contact us at 091-536400 so that we can arrange for the banks to be emptied.
