Waste Permits and Collection Permits
It is an offence to collect waste if you do not hold a valid waste collection permit.
It is an offence to give your waste to a waste collector who does not have a valid waste collection permit.
Waste Collection Permits are required by anyone running a waste collection business.
Waste Licences are required by large-scale waste facilities and are issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
A number of activities are exempt from needing a Waste Licence and, instead, require a Waste Facility Permit, which can be issued by a Local Authority.
