What happens to green bin waste?
Green bin waste is recycled.
The contents of Galway City Council’s green bins are transported to ReGen Waste Ltd. in Newry.
Here, the waste is separated according to waste type (ie. paper is separated from metals etc).
Each waste type is then supplied to companies for use as a raw material.
