What can I put in my grey bin?
Non-hazardous items that cannot be composted or recycled should be placed in the grey bin.
This includes:
ashes, nappies, dirty plastic, toothpaste tubes, tin foil, non-CFL light bulbs, bathroom bin sanitary items, crisp packets
NO HAZARDOUS WASTE
What happens to grey bin waste?
Grey bin waste is dumped in a landfill. It is not re-used or recycled.
Each household should try to reduce the amount of waste in their grey bin.
