Report a Blocked Sewer
Each house connects to the public sewer system via a service pipe.
If you have a blocked sewer the first thing you should establish is if it is your service pipe that is blocked.
You can do this by checking with your neighbours to see if they are also having problems. If they are not then it may be a blocked service pipe and if they are then it may be a problem with the main public sewer.

The responsibility of maintenance of these pipes remains with the owner of the house. You should contact a plumber.
If you are renting the house you should contact your landlord or if it is a local authority house then you should contact the Housing Department.
