Notice of Decision
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Galway City Council has made an order closing Newcastle Road to vehicular traffic, at its junction with the N6 at the following time:
10:00 Hrs to 16:00 Hrs on Wednesday October 5th, 2011
Reason: To facilitate the Commissioning of the New Traffic Signals at the N6/Newcastle Road junction
Alternative Routes: Alternative routes for traffic will be via signposted diversion routes.
Diversion Routes: Traffic approaching the junction from University Road are requested to divert at the junction of Newcastle Road / Old Seamus Quirke Road and travel via the Browne Roundabout (at rear of University Hospital Galway)
Traffic approaching the junction from the Moycullen Road (N59) are requested to divert at the junction of Moycullen Road (N59)/Thomas Hynes Road and travel via the Browne Roundabout (at rear of University Hospital Galway).
The Newcastle Road approaching the junction from both sides will be open to local traffic but through traffic will not be permitted (except emergency vehicles)
