NOTICE OF THE PREPARATION
OF THE
DRAFT GALWAY CITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2011-2017
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 12 of the Planning and Development Act 2000, that Galway City Council, being the Planning Authority for the City, has prepared, in accordance with the provisions of the above Act, a Draft City Development Plan for Galway City.
The Draft Galway City Development Plan is accompanied by an Environmental Report, prepared in accordance with the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 and a Habitats Directive Assessment (Appropriate Assessment), pursuant to Article 6 of the Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC.
The Draft Galway City Development Plan will be available for inspection at the Planning Office, Galway City Council, College Road, Galway, during normal office hours (i.e. 9:00am – 4:00pm, Monday – Friday) from Wednesday 3rd February 2010 to Wednesday 21st April 2010 (both dates inclusive) and on the website at www.galwaycity.ie
Submissions or observations in regard to the Draft Development Plan and/or Environmental Report and Habitats Directive Assessment may be lodged in writing within the above said period and should be addressed to the Senior Planner, Planning Department, City Hall, College Road, Galway, by e-mail to devplan@galwaycity.ie or by fax 091-561327. Written submissions or observations should be marked 'Draft Galway City Development Plan'.
All submissions or observations received during the above time period will be taken into consideration before the making of the Galway City Development Plan 2011-2017.
The Draft Galway City Development Plan 2011-2017 will also be available for inspection at the following locations during the above specified time period.

Public Information Sessions regarding the Draft Galway City Development Plan and the making of submissions/observations, will be held at a number of locations throughout the city in February 2010. Details of times and venues will be published in local newspapers and on the Councils website.
The public can also attend a Drop-in Clinic in the Planning Department, City Hall any Tuesday from 2-4pm during the consultation period.
Copies of the Draft City Development Plan including Maps, Environmental Report and Habitats Directive Assessment as well as being available on the website, may be purchased in hard copy and CD-ROM format at nominal cost from the Planning Department, Galway City Council, College Road, Galway during normal opening hours.
