- Upgraded crossing facilities for pedestrians at N6 junctions.
- Improved infrastructure and amenity for cyclists.
- Improved road safety for all road users on the N6 corridor,
particularly pedestrians and cyclists.
- Reduced traffic congestion at some junctions and maintaining
the existing level of service at the remaining junctions.
- More control over traffic via the proposed Urban Traffic Control
System to be put in place by Galway City Council to help
reduce traffic congestion in the City Centre.
- Health benefits through increased active travel.
