How to use our Search Facility
To use the Search Facility just type in a few words or phrases that are likely to be found only in the documents or pages that you are looking for.
The more words you give the better the results you will get.
Search by Typing Words and Phrases
For example if you are looking for Previous Mayors of Galway City then you should type in 'Previous Mayors' into the search box. Our Search Engine will return the pages and documents containing as many of these words and phrases as possible and order the most relevant ones first.
Identify Phrases with Quotation Marks
If you want to restrict your search to only match an exact phrase then you should use double quotation marks. For Example "the phrase you are looking for".
Advanced Search
There is also an option to carry out an advanced search which allows you to limit or restrict your results depending on several different factors such as where the words occur or the date the document was last updated.
