Galway Metropolitan Smarter Travel Area Bid

"To enhance the quality of life in Galway City & County, by fostering a sustainable transportation culture, achieving modal shift, creating an area of best practice, to serve as leaders in smarter travel by 2020"

This is the aim of the Galway MSTA bid that was submitted to the Department of Transport on April 30th 2010.
This is a joint bid by Galway City Council and Galway County Council. It has been developed through extensive consultation with Community Groups and other Stakeholders. The proposals are categorised into 6 Key Action Groups; Walking & Cycling, Public Transport, Traffic & Parking Management, Travel Planning, Marketing and Sustainable Fleet Management.
