Met Eireann has issued a national yellow weather warning for Monday when an Atlantic storm will move northwards close to Ireland with storm force winds, heavy rain and high seas are threatened. There is a high degree of uncertainty regarding the track of the weather system at present and as such only a National Warning has been issued by Met Eireann at present with no specific warning for Galway.

An agreement to transfer ownership of the former St. Anne's Children’s Home at Taylor's Hill, Galway from the Sisters of Mercy to Galway City Council was announced at the monthly meeting of the Council in City Hall, Galway on Monday (11th September.)
