Christmas Park and Ride Service - €3 per car return

The annual Christmas Park and Ride Service operated by Galway City Council is now in full swing with just over a week to go to Christmas. . The service will operate up to Wednesday 24th December 2014. Similar to previous years the service operates from Ballybrit Racecourse shuttling passengers to the Coach Station, City Centre, every 15 minutes. The fee per car is €3.00 return regardless of the number of passengers and includes all day parking at Ballybrit.

The service is operated by Bus Eireann on behalf of Galway City Council. Bus frequency is as follows:

Departures From Ballybrit Racecourse:

- Monday to Saturday every 15 minutes from 7:00 a.m. to 9:15 p.m.

- Sundays every 15 minutes from 11:00 a.m. to 6.45 p.m.

Departures from Coach Station, City Centre:

- Monday to Saturday every 15 minutes from 07:15 a.m. to 9.30 p.m.

- Sundays every 15 minutes from 11:15 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.

The Park and Ride is loved by families with young children

Bus Eireann has a fleet of buses to shuttle passengers in the City Centre every 15 minutes. Galway City Council highlight that the terminus at Galway Racecourse is perfectly situated for people travelling to the City along the M6, N6, N17, N18 and Monivea Roads. To assist road users, signage will be in place along all key routes to direct customers to the Park and Ride Facility at Ballybrit.
