A Wild Week of Biodiversity for Merlin Woods May 18th-24th May

Bats, Birds, Habitats, Moths and biodiversity workshops will all be the focus of this year's biodiversity week. Working with Birdwatch Ireland, Galway City Heritage Officer,Eastside Men's shed, Renmore Scouts, wildlife experts and getting up close to Ireland's Birds of Prey with wildlife rescuers and rehabillatators Animal Magic Rescue centre.

An education and information workshop will also be held in Galway City Musuem by Friends of Merlin Woods on International Biodiversity Day May 22nd from 1.pm to 2.30pm in the Education room and will give people the chance to see and hear about the work which is ongoing in Merlin Park Woods and the enormous amount of species and diverse habitats within the woodland.

All are welcome to attend and all events are free. Places may be restricted in some events where space is limited. For more info

Wed 20th - Dusk Bird Chorus with John
Lusby from Birdwatch Ireland, meeting

Thurs 21st - Exploring moths with Dr Chris
Peppiatt meeting at council compound 9pm

Fri 22nd - Education and information
workshop on Merlin Woods, Galway City
Museum 1 - 2.30pm

Sat 23rd - History and biodiversity trail
through Merlin Woods meeting at
council compound 12 noon

Sun 24th - Animal Magic, Birds of Prey
display with birds and other rescued
animals at the information sign in Merlin Park Woods 3pm
