Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP) for Galway City.
Galway City Council is currently preparing a Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP) for Galway City. The plan will be for a six year period and will set out objectives and actions to promote and support economic development and community development in the City.
The LECP is being developed through the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) and the Economic Development, Enterprise Support and Culture SPC. As part of the preparation process, 4 high level goals were identified for Galway City. They are:
- Develop and promote Galway as a world-class, creative City Region
- Develop and promote Galway as an Innovative City.
- Encourage a self-sustaining urban eco-system in Galway as the regional capital of the West.
- Ensure Galway city is an equal and inclusive City.
For each of these goals, a suite of clear and measurable actions have to be developed. The LECP should provide added value to community, social and economic development in Galway City and the focus will be on collaborative and interagency approaches. More information is available on www.galwaycity.ie/lecp.
In order to assist in the development of LECP actions, we are seeking your views on the key priorities and actions needed to promote and support economic and community development in Galway City. What is your vision for Galway City? What gaps need to be addressed? And, importantly, could you or your organisation help deliver clear, measurable actions as part of the LECP, either on your own or in conjunction with other groups and agencies?
We invite you to submit your thoughts on LECP actions to email@example.com (please write LECP in the subject line) or in writing to LECP Feedback, Community and Culture Department, Galway City Council, City Hall, College Road, Galway. Closing date for submissions is 4.00 pm on Friday 4th September 2015.
