Galway Wins Top Awards in 2015 IPB /Co-operation Ireland Pride of Place Awards

Two Galway City groups have taken two of the top prizes in the annual IPB Co-Operation Ireland Pride of Place Awards, which were announced on Saturday, 14 November 2015 at a glittering gala event in Ennis, Co Clare. More than 800 people from across the island filled the venue to hear the winners announced by RTE's Ciana Campbell.

IPB Pride of Place is an all-island competition that acknowledges the work that communities are doing all over the island of Ireland. The competition focus is about people coming together to shape, change and improve daily lives in their communities.

Three groups represented Galway City in the Pride of Place Cities Competition 2015. They were: Westside Age Inclusion, West Community Garden and Ballybane Foróige - Ballybane Traveller Integrated Youth Project.

In the cities competition, Foróige's Ballybane Traveller Integrated Youth Project - Ballybane Foroige took runner up position in the Young People in the Community Initiative Category, while West Community Garden took runner up in the Community Health Initiative Category.
