Notice of Decision
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Galway City Council has made an order closing:
- Forster Street: All traffic except Buses, Taxis and Hackneys.
- Eglinton Street: All traffic except Buses, Taxis and Hackneys.
- Williamsgate Street: All traffic except Buses, Taxis and Hackneys.
Period of Closure: From 10am to 4pm, Thursday, September 22nd, 2016.
Reason: European Car Free Day.
Alternative Routes: Alternative routes for traffic will be via signposted diversion routes.
Diversion Routes:
Forster Street - An alternative route is available via Fairgreen Road, Lough Atalia Road, Bothar na Long, Dock Road, New Dock Street and Merchants Road. Local access will be maintained at all times. Advance diversion signage will be in place prior to closure commencing.
Eglinton Street & Williamsgate Street - An alternative route is available via St. Vincent's Avenue, Woodquay, and Eyre Street, or via Prospect Hill, Bothar na mBan, Headford Road and St. Vincent's Avenue. Local access will be maintained at all times. Advance diversion signage will be in place prior to closure commencing.
