Notice of Intention
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Galway City Council proposes to make an order closing:-
1. Seapoint Promenade R336 between Quincentennial Drive & Grattan Road
Period of Closure: From 07:00 to 15:00 Sunday, 22nd June, 2014
2. Seapoint Promenade R336 between The Atlantaquarium & D'Arcy Roundabout
Period of Closure: From 9:50 to 11:10 Sunday, 22nd June, 2014
3. Salthill Road Upper, Upper Salthill Knocknacarra between the D'Arcy Roundabout & Junction with the Barna Road (West bound lane closed only)
Period of Closure: From 09:50 to 11:30 Sunday, 22nd June, 2014
4. Gentian Hill & Blakes Hill
Period of Closure: From 10:00 to 11:30 Sunday, 22nd June, 2014
5. Claddagh Quay & Grattan Road between Fairhill & Wolfe Tone Bridge
(West bound lane closed only)
Period of Closure: From 09:50 to 12:30 Sunday, 22nd June, 2014
Reason: To facilitate the Kick-Asphalt 10km and 10mile race.
Alternative Routes: Alternative routes for traffic will be via signposted diversion routes. Local access will be maintained at all times
Diversion Routes: Prior to the event when only Seapoint promenade is closed, a diversion will be available Via Grattan Road & Salthill Road Upper and Vice Versa
During the race an alternative route Westbound is available via Fr. Griffin Road, Lwr Salthill Road, Dr Mannix Road, Threadneedle Road and Kingston Road. In order to reach any address on the route itself, approach from the West.
Documents can be inspected at the Galway City Council, Transportation Department, during normal office hours, from 9.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to the undersigned, not later than 12.00 noon on Thursday 5th June, 2014.
