Met Eireann have issued an Orange Weather Warning for this evening. Southwest to west winds of mean speeds 65 to 80 km/h, gusting to 110 to 130 km/h are expected and very high seas along Atlantic coasts, with a risk of coastal flooding also. High tide this evening and early tomorrow morning may result in overtopping at Salthill. As such Galway City Council have closed Toff Park and Salthill Promenade Car Parks.
Due to the wind direction, no serious flooding is expected, however the public should remain vigilant. Our crews will be on standby and weather will be monitored.
