Galway City Council supports Community Festivals in local areas to encourage participation in community life.
The City Council will support festivals which demonstrate the involvement of their local community and which are organized and run by local residents and this scheme is quite specifically designed to support small-scale local events organised by local people in 2006.
Grants will not be awarded for occasional or once-off events such as musical performances or sports days

We have attempted to keep the Application Form as simple as possible and have laid out the criteria that will be used for assessing eligibility.
Applicants should demonstrate what other funding or resources have been sourced including cash, sponsorship or benefit–in– kind.
Completed application forms should be returned by Friday, 28th July 2006 to:

Applications will also be accepted via email at c&e@galwaycity.ie
It is expected that Decisions on Grant-Aid will be made by the end of August 2006.
Applicants should bear in mind that there is very limited total budget available in 2006.
