Tulca Exhibition is currently running
The museum will also house temporary exhibitions from local artists and from community groups.
Another feature of Galway City Museum will be a 'living heritage' programme.
The Museum welcomes the public to avail of seminars, talks and performances that are held throughout the year.
The City Council intends that the museum will interact with schools and community groups as well as being a venue for events, such as the opening of the Cúirt Festival which took place in April.
It is the City Council’s desire that the people of Galway will see the building as a place with which to interact on a cultural level.
The building affords historical societies, community groups, arts groups and others an opportunity of holding talks, workshops, and book launches or any such event that highlights local history, heritage or tradition.
Groups considering the building for this purpose can contact the museum at 091 532464.
