This atlas represents a profile of Galway City by means of a compendium of colour illustrated maps, statistical tables and analysis of trends by reference to key factors including demography, housing employment, education, culture and issues relating to social inclusion.
Each map illustrates clearly what is happening in each of the city’s 22 electoral divisions; making for interesting reading as clear contrasts emerge between city centre areas and the outlying suburbs over time.
The atlas is intended to provide a statistical context for decision-makers, so as to facilitate and better inform decisions governing service provision in the city.
It provides a unique pictorial representation of what is happening in Galway City in relation to key factors at a particular point in time. By using electoral divisions as the basic spatial reference unit, communities, school children and local area groups will have access to key statistical data for their respective areas.
