Every year a new list, or "Register", of electors is compiled by Galway City Council for the County Borough of Galway.
When an election or referendum is called in Ireland this Register is used by the City Council to prepare the voter list for each of the Wards.

The Draft Register of Electors is published on 1st November each year and is made available for inspection during working hours at the following locations:
You have until 25th November to make a correction or have your name included on the Register. You may be asked for documents such as a birth certificate or a certificate of naturalisation in order to prove your eligibility to vote.
The amended Register of Electors is then published in February of the following year.
If you are qualified to vote but have missed the deadline to include your name on the Register, you can apply to be included in a Supplement to the Register
