Voting Rights
Once you are on the Register your citizenship determines at what elections/referenda you are allowed to vote.
These are as follows:
- Irish Citizens may vote at every election and referendum
- British Citizens may vote at Dáil, European and local elections
- Other EU citizens may vote at European and local elections
- Non-EU citizens may vote at local elections only
Everyone on the Register is entitled to vote at a local election in Ireland. People who are identified by the letter "L" opposite their name on the Register may only vote at a local election.
