Fire Service

The Fire Service responds to emergency calls in respect of:

The emergency phone number is 999 or 112.

The Fire Services for Galway City and County are delivered by Galway County Council on the basis of an agreement between Galway City Council and Galway County Council.

The Fire Service headquarters is located at Galway City Fire Station and all the senior fire officers are based there. Details of the services, which include fire protection and fire prevention, are available on the Galway County Council website www.galwaycoco.ie

In order to increase public awareness of fire safety and fire prevention, public talks and seminars are provided by the Chief Fire Officer and his staff.
