The following is a list of the main conditions that must be complied with in order to obtain an Open Space Permit:
Public Liability Insurance (€6.5 Million) to include a specific indemnity in the name of Galway City Council.
Employers Liability Insurance (€13 Million) to include a specific indemnity in the name of Galway City Council.
Note: For Both points above policies must include Irish Law Jurisdiction clause and include Irish Territorial limits.
Undertake to keep Galway City Council, indemnified against any writ, claim, proceedings, damages, expenses, arising from the permit.
Supply an organisational Method Statement and Risk Assessment
Bond/deposit (see charges). Paid 14 days in advance of proposed event.
Undertake to accept liability for re-instatement costs in the event of damage, over and above the deposit figure.
The rental site fee (see charges). Paid 14 days in advance of proposed event.
No advertising bills/notices to be posted on Electricity or Telegraph pole, traffic sign or pole, bridge or pillar box, perimeter walls or fences, within the Galway City Council area.
That all temporary directional signs be agreed with the City Council Engineer (Recreation & Amenity Section), as to type, method of fixing and location, removed within 7 days from date of final performance.
Liaise with the relevant Parks Department Area Supervisor in relation to on-site activity, complying with any limitations stated thereon, 7 days in advance.
Contact the Recreation and Amenity office a minimum of 24 hours,prior to your taking up occupation of the approved site, so as to advise of your time of arrival and liaise with the City Council Engineer in charge of Recreation and Amenity Department and the Community Warden Service Supervisor (091-536-517).
That you further confirm, that the event (including any animals) is to be located on the specified site, including sufficient temporary toilet facilities, as specified by the Area Supervisor, having been agreed with the Recreation & Amenity Engineer.
Arrangements for vehicle parking, to be agreed with the City Councils Engineer ( Recreaton and Amenity Section).
Undertake to comply with the fire precautions of the Chief Fire Officer in relation to tents used as Places of Public Resort.
The organisers must ensure that agreed Litter Control procedures, through Senior Executive Engineer (Environment Section - 091 536595), are confirmed and in place, (Litter Management Act 1997).
