Making of Decision:
Galway City Council shall not determine an application for permission until after 5 weeks beginning from date of receipt of valid application, but, shall make its decision within the period of 8 weeks beginning on the date of receipt of the valid application provided a request for Further Information is not issued
On receipt of Further Information which is to the satisfaction of Galway City Council a decision shall be issued within 4 weeks of the notice being complied with, provided that the total period is not less than 8 weeks.
Appeals:
Appeals to the An Bord Pleanala shall be made within 4 weeks from date of decision of Galway City Council and
may be made either by the applicant, a prescribed body or by any person who made submissions or observations in
writing in relation to the permission in question.
Also in certain circumstances a person who has an interest in the adjoining land in respect of which the permission has been granted may, without having made any prior submission to the City Council, appeal a decision.
Note:
When calculating above time periods or any other time limit referred to in said Act or Regulations the period between the 24th day of December and the 1st day of January, both days inclusive, shall be disregarded.
