A person who suffers from a disability may apply for a Disabled Persons Parking Permit.
This permit can be issued by the Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland and it is not issued by the City Council.
This permit, once issued to the disabled person, may be used in any vehicle that the person is travelling in.
A vehicle displaying a Valid Disabled Persons Permit can park in a Pay & Display space without the payment of fees. This applies to both on street parking and in car parks.
The initial application must be made in writing by or on behalf of the disabled person.

Once the written application has been received the appropriate application forms are sent by return of post.
These include a form to be filled out by or on behalf of the disabled person and another form which is to be filled out by the persons doctor, this form must be stamped by a member of the Gardai.
There is also an application fee of €25.
