Road Safety

The City Council is conscious of all aspect of Road safety and the promotion of measures to ensure the safety of Road users.

Support is given to various campaigns carried out by the National Safety Council.

An officer of the City Council is assigned duties as Road Safety Officer and his duty is to promote the various road safety campaigns, such as the junior school warden, cycle training schemes, and other projects which are promoted by the National Safety Council.

Public Lighting

The public lighting network within Galway City amounts to over 7,850 lights. The network is extended annually due to the taking-in charge of new residential developments and improvements to section of Public Roads.
