Galway City Outer Bypass and Western Approach – R336

Galway City Council, Galway County Council and the National Roads Authority progressed the design for the Galway City Outer Bypass Scheme from the western environs of the city to the Doughiska area on the east of the city.

It is part of the overall scheme to improve the N6 route to Dublin and the east of the Country, this project will bring major benefits to Galway City and County, providing a fast, modern and safe link from the proposed N6 route at Doughiska to the existing R336 Barna Road, with consequent benefits for the remainder of the City road network.
