Community Wardens

The Community Wardens are a uniformed, well trained team who monitor the Public Space, Recreation and Amenity areas throughout the City

Some Duties the Community Wardens enforce are:

Traffic legislation, as covered by existing wardens in respect of stationary vehicles
Use of pedestrian facilities by cyclists
Licensing requirements of the Dog Control Act
Control of Horses
Enforcement of Litter and Waste Regulations
Provision of information and advice to tourists / visitors as appropriate.
Other activities which are licensable by Galway City Council (eg. Opening of roads, erection of scaffolding, etc)
