Tobin’s / Nicholas O’Dwyer, Consulting Engineers, have been appointed to prepare a Preliminary Report for Galway City and adjacent areas of County Galway. Approval was sought for this Preliminary Report as part of Galway Main Drainage Stage III, which was one of the schemes approved to enter planning as part of the Water Services Investment Programme 2003 – 2005.
Following discussions with the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, it has been decided that the Preliminary Report will be divided into five separate sections as follows:
1. Overall Strategic Report
2. Mutton Island Upgrade and EIS Preliminary Report
3. Network - Advance works Preliminary Report
4. Network Upgrade & Extension Preliminary Report
5. Galway East Wastewater Infrastructure Preliminary Report
Reports One and Two above were completed in January 2006 with the remaining reports scheduled for completion by May 2006.
These Reports will then be forwarded to the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government for approval.
