N6 Roadworks - NRA Construction of Roundabout at Coolagh

03 September 2009

In the process of extending the N6 Motorway from Ballinasloe to Galway, as part of this work the NRA will be constructing a roundabout at Coolagh - halfway between the Galway Clinic and Briarhill on the existing dual carriageway.

Traffic management systems will be in place from the 28th August, 2009 in order to start the work next week.
The job is scheduled to last 12 weeks.

2 lanes of traffic will be maintained for the most part - with the exception of some night time work (10 p.m. to 7 a.m.) when the traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

This will only be for 10\12 nights and should not affect traffic.
The hard shoulders will be removed, but there will be a tow-away facility in place in case of breakdowns.

Reduced speed limits will be in place.
