Does Galway City Council provide performance venues/theatres in Galway City?
There are two performance venues, managed and run under the umbrella of Galway City Council in Galway City - The Town Hall Theatre located in Courthouse Square in Woodquay and The Black Box Theatre located nearby on Dyke Road.
The Town Hall Theatre is a state of the art, 400 seat Municipal Theatre presenting a 52-week programme of local, national and international theatre, music (classical, traditional, popular), comedy, dance, film, musicals and literary events.
The Black Box is a multi-purpose performance arts space which each year hosts an eclectic programme of theatre, music, comedy and multi-format events.
