NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Galway City Council proposes to make an order closing:-
Middle Street: From Cross Street Lower - Abbeygate Street Lower.
Period of Closure: 7:00am on Monday 17th of June to 7:00pm on Thursday 20th of June, 2019.
Reason: To facilitate sewer rehab works for Irish Water.
Alternative Routes: Alternative routes for traffic will be via signposted diversion routes.
Diversion Routes: An alternative route is available via Cross Street Upper, Bridge Street, Dominick Street Upper, Fairhill Road Upper, Father Griffin Road, Flood Street.
The direction of traffic will be reversed on St Augustine Street.
Local access will be maintained on the first half of Middle Street (up to St Augustine's Parish Church) for residents and deliveries.
A Variable Message Sign (VMS) will be in place prior to works commencing and throughout the duration of the works informing the public of the road closure on Middle Street and change of direction of traffic on St Augustine Street.
Documents can be inspected at the Galway City Council, Transportation Department, during normal office hours, from 9.00am to 12.30pm, Monday to Friday. Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to the undersigned not later than 12.00 noon on Thursday, 23rd May, 2019.
