As High Tide passed at 9.24pm Thursday night, water levels in the River Corrib were below Quay Wall. The Harbourmaster reported no overtopping at Galway Harbour. There has also been no overtopping at the Spanish Arch with minor overtopping in Salthill. No significant damage has yet been reported.
However, Galway City Council would like to remind the public that the Status Orange Wind Warning remains in place until 6am Friday morning and advise to exercise caution until this time. Heavy rainfall is also expected over night with likelihood of spot flooding.
