Notice of Proposed Variations of the Galway City Development Plan 2017 – 2023
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) that Galway City Council, being the Planning Authority for the City, propose to make a variation of the Galway City Development Plan 2017 – 2023 in respect of the following:
Proposed Variation No. 5 - To align the Development Plan with the National Planning Framework (NPF), Regional Spatial Economic Strategy (RSES) and Galway Metropolitan Area Strategic Plan (MASP) and to incorporate the Galway City Council Climate Adaptation Strategy.
Proposed Variation No. 6 – To insert a Specific Development Objective on RA zoned lands at Cappagh Park to allow for consideration of an Aquatic Sports and Fitness Centre.
It is necessary to vary the Development Plan to facilitate these changes.

The public consultation period runs from Thursday 30th July to Monday 31st August 2020. Submissions or observations in relation to the Proposed Variations and associated environmental assessments may be made in writing and should be addressed to the Senior Planner, Planning Department, City Hall, College Road, Galway or by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org . These will be taken into consideration by the City Council before any decision is made with regard to the Proposed Variations. The closing date for receipt of written submissions or observations is Monday 31st August 2020 at 4pm.
