-Mayor of Galway City encourages people to get creative and to avail of all the Creative exhibitions around the City.

- Galway City Council is showing people photographs, art, poetry and stories.

Photographs, art, poetry and stories will be displayed and showcased, with the first project displayed in the Eyre Square Shopping Centre from Thursday 15th October. For the month of October we will be showcasing a photo exhibition by Dr. Chaosheng Zhang.  Dr. Zhang has been taking beautiful photos of Galway and campus of NUI Galway since 2017.  His photos have been used in various publications at the University, business groups and widely shared on social media.  Each month a different exhibition will be displayed here.   November will showcase imagination and creativity of young people in the City and December will have an exciting Christmas themed exhibition!

This is a project funded through Galway City Council's Creative Ireland funding as part of the Irish Government’s campaign ‘Getting Through Covid-19 Together’. The Creative Ireland Programme is a five year culture based initiative that emphasises the importance of human creativity for individual and national wellbeing.

Cllr. Mike Cubbard, Mayor of Galway City said “I would encourage everyone to check out what is happening and to take the opportunity to attend or take part in Creative Ireland projects around the City. You never know what will spark your imagination and creativity! We have all seen just how much creativity and the arts support health and well-being during the last few months. As the Mayor of Galway City I’m proud of our creative reputation.”
