Notice is hereby given that Galway City Council has prepared a Draft Development Contribution Scheme for the period 2020 – 2026 in accordance with. Section 48 (4) of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) for the administrative area of Galway City Council. The Scheme provides for the levying of development contributions in accordance with the planning legislation to contribute to the funding of public infrastructure and facilities benefiting the development of the City.
The Draft Development Contribution Scheme, setting out the basis for the contributions will be on public display from Thursday 26th November 2020 until Thursday 21st January 2021.
A copy of the Draft Development Contribution Scheme can be viewed on the City Council website at www.galwaycity.ie/planning
A copy will also be available for public inspection at the Planning offices of Galway City Council, City Hall, College Road Galway City from Thursday 26th November 2020 until Thursday 21st January 2021 inclusive from 9.30am to 1pm Monday to Friday excluding the following dates over the Christmas period 24th to 29th December 2020 inclusive. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the Council’s offices are accessible by prior appointment only. Submissions or observations in regard to the proposed Draft Scheme may be made in writing to the Planning Authority and should be addressed to the Director of Services, Planning Department, City Hall, College Road, Galway or submitted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org and titled, "Draft Development Contribution Scheme".
Any submission or observation should state your name, address and where relevant, the body or organisation represented.
All submissions or observations received will be taken into consideration by the Members of the City Council before the making of Development Contribution Scheme 2020 -26. The closing date for receipt of written submissions or observations is Thursday 21st January at 4pm.

To Note: The details including the names of those making submissions may be shared with relevant Council Departments involved in the making of the Development Contribution Scheme and may form part of reports linked to the making of the Development Contribution Scheme. The Chief Executive’s Report on submissions and observations received will include the names of those who made submissions or observations and will be referenced /included in the minutes of that meeting and subsequently published on the Galway City Council website.
The Planning process is an open and public one. IN that context, all submissions are a matter of public record, and may also be placed on Galway City Council’s website.
