Galway City Council through the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) invites applications for funding from interested community / voluntary groups within the Galway City administrative area under the Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) 2021.
The Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) 2021 aims to provide funding to enhance facilities in disadvantaged areas / communities. This iteration of the programme will provide grants towards projects or equipment enhancing facilities (similar to previous years) and one off grants towards costs associated with reopening of a facility or the sustainability of a facility.
Under the programme the LCDC will ring-fence some funding to provide small grants of €1,000 or less, which will allow a larger volume of those with limited resources to receive some funding. The programme can also fund or partially fund larger scale projects to address disadvantage.
Applications should relate to one or more key priority areas identified in the Galway City Local Economic & Community Plan 2015 – 2021 which can be viewed online at https://www.galwaycity.ie/local-economic-and-community-plan/lecp
The following provides a non-exhaustive list of projects that could receive funding under the programme:
- Development/renovation of community centres
- Once off maintenance of premises.
