Galway City Council opens new Automatic Public Convenience

Following the award of Blue Flag to Salthill Beach, Galway City Council is delighted to announce the opening of a new, state of the art Automatic Public Convenience (APC) at Palmer’s Rock, Salthill.

The new convenience provides visitors to the area with two unisex toilets, one of which is accessible.

Entrance to the facility costs 20c to use, and users can now use their debit/credit cards to pay for the service via contactless payment system. Cash will continue to be taken also.

The APCs are opened 24 hours a day 365 days a year and will be maintained in line with a maintenance contract.

The City Council also provides APCs at Ladies Beach, Blackrock, Eyre Square and Millennium Park.

Emergency procedures are in place and there will be a freephone 24-hour helpline provided in case of emergency.
