In Galway City – Your Council Episode 11, Fergal meets Eithne Verling, Director of the Galway City Museum and Co-Curator of the current MONUMENT exhibition.
Eithne is committed to providing an open museum that welcomes diverse communities and engages with them on their interests and stories. At a fundamental level, growing up as she did in a family of creatives, Eithne has a strong belief in the transformative power of art and creative thinking - essentially the power of the imagination, to find solutions to the challenges that face everyone - big and small.
Eithne discusses how she came to work in Galway City Museum, some of the fascinating displays and exhibits in the Museum, including the oldest Claddagh Ring in the world, and opportunities for Galway City Museum, facing into the exciting redevelopment of neighbouring Comerford House.
